[Appearance]
Taller than any girl in her family (about 5'9") and lanky, Rowan is one of those girls who can be really striking or blend in just as easily.  Like any good Irish girl, she's got red-red hair; her eyes are brown.  As for dress, eclectic is probably the best way to put it.

[History]
Rowan grew up in South Boston in a very, very Irish family; though both of her parents were drinkers, she never got into it, instead spending most of her time reading or going to the movies by herself.  When she finally met a guy who she felt understood her, she was willing to leave everything, even drop out of college, to travel the country with him, really experiencing something and thinking she could even find inspiration for a book in there somewhere.  Of course, that wasn't as ideal as could be expected, and it happened to be the little town of Mayhill where their rocky relationship finally ended.  Not having the means to find her way back to Boston, and not terribly wanting to, she stayed in town, trying to make a new life for herself.  Though it's been three years, she still hasn't quite acclimatized, and she's more of a loner than ever.

[Personality]
Rowan doesn't exactly connect well with others; she's more used to fictional people than real ones, and expects things to go that easily.  She prefers a good book to a mediocre conversation any day, but she's very sweet when you actually get to know her.  At one point, she may have had ambitions, but right now, she's just trying to focus on getting by.  She isn't close to her family anymore, and it takes effort to get any sort of personal history out of her, as she prefers to focus on the present.

[Personal Life]
Rowan is currently employed at the Read It Again Bookstore and Coffee Shop, and lives in a small bungalow house with her pet bunny, Bunny.  She's single, and doesn't have many close friends, but gets on fairly well with fellow employees and bookstore regulars.

[Writing Sample]
Shelving a few of the used books that had just been dumped in a cardboard box by the door, Rowan hummed a little song to herself.  She was surprised how much she enjoyed mundane tasks like that, but there was a distinct comfort to putting it back in order.  If only she could do the same with her personal life.
